Description
Project Title: New Office Development
Client: Bryen & Langley Ltd
Location: Victoria St. London
Project Description:
Concept: Business Design Solutions, London.
We developed a kiln formed glass design to represent water for a whole series of panels made using a very white,
low iron float glass. Most panels had irregular vertical edges to represent fissures and create limited vision beyond.
The ceiling panels - representing a river - had ripple effect lighting above.
To satisfy DDA concerns the large reception panels incorporated 40mm diameter lead crystal rods with black
and white inserts bonded to the outer end panels. This created a remarkable visual effect which appeared to
change colour, black to white, as clients moved about the space.
Fourty door panels, again representing a river had clear glass "islands" bonded to the surface of the kiln
formed glass creating more clear areas for better see through vision.
Finally a series of wall lights, kiln formed to the same texture, curved and hand silvered completed the project.
